Meet the Vet

Dr. John Ciuca

Owner and Veterinarian

In 2005, we were delighted to welcome Dr. John Ciuca to our practice, joining forces with Dr. Grimm to offer a wealth of specialized veterinary experience and knowledge. Together, our dedicated team combines expertise with a genuine love for animals, ensuring that your pets receive the highest level of care and attention they deserve.

Our Founder

Dr. Earl A. Grimm

With a rich history dating back to its establishment in 1959, Oakland Park Animal Hospital has been a pillar of veterinary care in our community. Dr. Earl Grimm, our founder, laid the foundation of our practice in 1960. During the early years, Dr. Grimm and his family resided in this very building while he dedicated himself to practicing veterinary medicine. This unique experience allowed his sons to grow up surrounded by the veterinary profession, eventually becoming Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVT) themselves. Thus, our practice has truly become a family affair.

As time passed, the roles within our practice evolved, but our commitment to providing compassionate care remained steadfast. In 2005, Dr. Grimm welcomed Dr. John Ciuca as a partner and co-owner, entrusting him with the role of staff surgeon. Alongside Dr. John, a dedicated technician joined our team to assist in delivering exceptional care. Even with these additions, Oakland Park Animal Hospital has preserved its warm and familiar atmosphere, always maintaining its identity as a family-run practice. Although Dr. Grimm may no longer be practicing, his wisdom and guidance continue to be invaluable to our entire team.

Very caring staff. Dr. John is wonderful. Our first dog a chocolate lab had ear infection issues and Dr. Grimm took amazing care of our dog. We know have a yorkie and Dr. John is equally effective. In addition Oakland Path Animal Hospital's fees are more than fair. I highly recommended Oakland Park Medical Hospital.

This whole office is amazing! They always work me in when possible. They take all my phone calls when I am in a panic and listen. I love the office staff! They are just as amazing as the doctor and are so helpful. And my dog loves them!
